Why should I choose private lessons over group lessons?

This is a common question we get everyday. Group lessons can be fun, especially when you can play with 5 other kids in your 30 minute lesson, but that’s the thing, being a group of 5 or 6 kids means on average your child is getting about a 5 minute lesson with their teacher and 25 minutes sitting on the side playing waiting for their turn. Yes, group lessons are inexpensive compared to private, however you will need so many lessons and sessions for your child to learn to swim. With us, within just as little as 4 lessons your child is more independent and comfortable in the water and that is when the magic starts to happen.

What happens if we miss a lesson?

We know things come up at the last minute, or vacations are planned. We allow for one makeup lesson per session with a 24 hours notice. This gives you the freedom to make other plans without missing a lesson.

What do I need to bring to our lessons?

We ask that you arrive 5-10 minutes early to allow for your child to get ready at his/her own pace. We recommend bringing a pair of goggles, its much more enticing for kids to put their faces in the water with goggles on. Don’t forget your bathing suit and towel. If your child likes a particular bath toy, bring it too! We do have toys for the kids, but sometimes they prefer having one form home.

Can I bring a personal floating device (life jacket, bubble, floaties, arm bands)?

No. We teach with no floating aids as it is imperative that children learn to swim on their own.

How long will it take for my child to swim?

There is no exact answer here. It depends on many factors. Some teenagers have never learned to swim and we have 3 year old kids who cannot wait to race across the pool. Our first priority is to get them comfortable in the water, trust our instructors and teach them breathing techniques. From that point on amazing things start to happen. We can ensure you that within just one session you will be amazed by the progress your child has made.

What ages do you teach?

We start as young as 2 years young. We have no limit on age, we have had many adults come through our doors and it has been wonderful. We encourage swimmers and non swimmers of all ages to join our lessons.

Do parents go in the water with the kids?

No. This is strictly one on one with the swimmer/instructor.

What is the cost for private lessons?

Prices change per session. It all depends on how many weeks said session will run. For our present session please see our registration page.

Do you offer family discounts?

Yes, we offer $10 as a sibling discount. If you refer someone to us who registers for a full session you will also get a free lesson the next time you sign up.

When is your next session?

We have 4 sessions per year, Winter (January), Spring (April), Summer (July) and Fall (September). You can always contact us during any session to see if we still have space. We will prorate the lessons you have registered for. Keep checking back to our website to learn more!
